Generations is a play about children and parents. It tells the story of the Rothberg family—Greg, Sarah, Ben, Emma—as they struggle with marriage and sexuality and the fact of always growing older. Abortion pills and crossword puzzles, murder trials, and prom: we plot our lives around moments like these. Time condenses as the play unfolds; we see that the past is always present, the future always looms, and a family always exists in all moments at once.
